Mike was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. In September, he had surgery to remove as much of the tumor the surgeon could get. He has been recovering in a rehab facility where he is getting help with occupational and physical therapies. He is tired and has difficulty with his short term memory. He has good moments and is the Mike we all know and love, and bad, which also brings out the Mike we all know and love! :)
Mike met with his surgeon recently who stated without treatment, prognosis is 3-6 months. This is a fast acting disease and the treatment options available were something Mike discussed before his surgery, and explicitly said he did not want to do. Because he is getting very tired and PT is difficult for him, he may be moving to hospice care soon.
We are trying our hardest to keep him comfortable and happy. We read his cards, letters and FB messages to him all the time. You can FaceTime him if you'd like. Please just send us a PM and we will set up a time for you do that with Mike.
