Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are happy to have received so many inquiries & well wishes from all of Mike's wonderful friends, but have been unable to respond to each one individually. We are using this site to keep family and friends updated regarding his condition. Mike went to Albany Med for an elective 1 day surgery on Wednesday May 3rd but did not leave after 1 day. Post operative complications arose requiring an emergency surgery on Saturday May 6th. After the surgery he was placed in SICU with a systematic infection impacting his organs resulting in the inability to maintain his BP or fight the infection. While in the SICU he experienced a heart attack and placed on artificial ventilation . Due to continued infection, fevers, poor wound healing & dehiscence he was taken to the OR for an emergency surgery Sunday May 14th & experienced a critical post op recovery. He went for repeated washouts on Monday and Tuesday to cleanse the abdomen of infection. At this time he is recovering from the Tuesday surgery. We will try to update this site regularly so that all of Mike's concerned family and friends can receive consistent information on his condition, recovery, visitation or any way you can assist him (prayers please).
