Micah Zahringer

On Thursday November 10th, despite his parents' best intentions, 4-year-old Micah Zahringer found a firearm, presumed to be unloaded and shot himself in their home. He suffered major head trauma and was taken by ambulance to Aspirus Langlade Hospital. From there he was air lifted to St. Joseph's Children's Hospital in Marshfield and was immediately taken into surgery. The doctors told the family that he may not make it through the surgery but by God's grace he did. After surgery they were told he had lost a lot of blood and has extensive damage to the right side of his brain, and he would likely need at least 2 more surgeries.
He is in the Pediatric ICU and is sedated to keep him from moving, so as not to further his injuries. Micah's vitals have been recently steady, which is really good news. The doctor is planning to do a CT scan, but is waiting to let Micah rest unless they see something that they cannot explain.
During this time we are asking that any offers for help be commented and we will try to promptly reply. Andrew and Heather (Uncle and Aunt to the children) are keeping the three older boys with them, if anyone would like to help them in any way or make a meal for them they can either comment or sign up to take a meal at https://www.mealtrain.com/trains/ngd557  If you would like to donate money to help Matt, Jaci and the family with meals, transportation and other expenses that will add up throughout the long recovery time you can donate at https://www.gofundme.com/prayers-for-micah or  directly to the family's beneficiary account set up at Covantage credit union (The Zahringer Family).
We are also asking for people to be praying during this difficult time. Pray for healing for Micah, pray for comfort for Matt, Jaci, Ben, Jacob, Timothy and Ian, and pray for wisdom for the doctors to make the best medical decisions that will help Micah heal. We also want to thank everyone who has already offered their assistance and has donated their time, money and meals. In an effort to allow the family to focus on each other and just make it through daily living please use this website to check for updates.

Thank you so much for prayers and taking the time to read.
