Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Around noon on Monday, May 21 I was getting lunch around when I heard screams coming from outside. A little bit later Dalton came running in and said, "Micah's got burnt really bad! Come quick!" Dalton had heard the screams, and went running down to the burn pile which Micah was intending to light with the help of gas. Micah was coming to him with his shirt on fire. Dalton hollered at him to "Stop, drop, and roll!", which he immediately did. That put most of the fire out, although Dalton did have to smother a few flames. Dalton hosed him off with water, and Micah was screaming in pain, and begging for ice to put on it. Skin was hanging off his chest and arms, most of his skin was bright red, with a spot on his upper left arm being gray and yellow. We wrapped a wet towel around him, and Dalton went racing to Hillsboro hospital with him. Micah was desperate to be cooled off-opened the window and poured water on himself when he found a bottle of water in the Sub. I dropped the rest of the children off at Travis' with no warning, and went to join them at the hospital.
Micah's siblings are Kyran 10, Shiloh 5, and Isaac 18 months.
