As most people know, Mia has been through a lifelong journey of medical issues. She is a juvenile diabetic since the age of 12. At age 24 she began having nerve damage which effected her vision (she is blind in one eye), her hands and legs and most prominently her stomach. With all of that, she has been able to raise 4 wonderful children and a mediocre husband. About 4 years ago, after a low blood sugar, Mia fell down a set of stairs and severely broke her leg. 3 falls later, and the other leg and ankle shattered, Mia spent 3+ years in a wheelchair, walker or cane. So now, just as she is recovering from these falls, another diagnosis - leukemia.
