After a couple weeks of abdominal pain, at one point waiting to see if my appendix would burst (which it did not seem inclined to do) I finally hauled my ass into the doctor to see why the pain would not go away. I told my doctor my symptoms and both he and I were convinced it was my gall bladder, pesky thing! We just needed a quick ultrasound to confirm and then out that bad boy would go and life would be back to normal.

I was able to get into an ultrasound that same day and was super anxious to get the call to schedule gall bladder surgery. I was ready to go!  However, that call never came. Instead, I was told that masses were found on my liver and I needed an immediate CT to see if more masses were in my body.  Head reeling, I went back to the hospital, crossed my fingers and hoped for the best.

That's the day my life changed, Thursday June 24th 2021. That was the day I was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer that has metastisized to my liver. 


We've been to multiple oncologists now and a surgeon to discuss our options. We are starting with an aggressive chemo treatment. I am so happy to say that we found an oncologist that we really like and respect and feel really good about the path he is steering us down for treatment. We feel like we are in really good hands. Chemo will be starting in the next couple weeks and we will make sure to keep everyone updated as much as we can. Love you all!
