Many of you know Mel's battle with Leukemia started 12 years ago. 10 years ago she had an experimental double umbilical cord stem cell transplant. She had lots of complications along with having to have a double hip replacement. Then in Oct 2016 we celebrated due to it was said she was Cancer Free. But in Melissa fashion (stubborn) it really was not gone they think but hiding. It started to show itself again when Mel was not feeling well. Then it was discovered in Feb yes she does have Leukemia. She is currently at UW Medical Center receiving treatment. She is expected to be up there for at least a month.
