Hello everyone.  I (Todd) will be your scribe, as much as possible, during this journey/mission that Melissa and our family enters into.  Last month, on July 19th we found out that Melissa has breast cancer.  She will be having surgery on Thursday, August 31st.  A double mastectomy.  The early results show the cancer to be in Stage 2A.  Stages are 1-4, 4 being the most advanced.  We will find out if the cancer has spread during her surgery on Thursday.  As of the last test they did, which was an MRI, the cancer had not spread into the lymph nodes, which was a great thing for us to discover.  The surgeon tells us the recovery from surgery usually goes as follows, first 2 weeks after surgery people operate at about 60%, weeks 3-4, about 80% then after that it's usually back to 100%.  The other treatment could affect this also.  We'll be meeting with the Oncologist on September 11th to figure out if Melissa will undergo radiation and/or chemotherapy.

We appreciate everyone who has prayed for Melissa and our family.  We can't thank you enough for the Meal Trains from all the kind hearts at Flips and at St. O's.  The outpouring of love and caring and help has been overwhelming.  We love you all.

'I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me' - Philippians 4:13.

I'll try to post as there are new updates.
