Friday (December 1st) Melissa will be starting on a journey to better control her MS with an drug called lemtrada that's a chemo-like drug. That appointment she will be getting an port put in in order to start her new treatment for lemtrada from her oncologist over in Orlando.Right now we don't official day of starting treatment we thing it will start on Monday December 4th.Lemtrada is a 2 year treatment. The first year is for 5 days and the 2nd year is for 3 days. After that she will be done. After 2 years she will be watch to se if a 3rd treatment is needed, which I is a little chance. We have spent alot of time changing insurance, finding Dr's, listening about the drug and doing research about it. After finding a doctor and having her agree that lemtrada was the best treatment for Melissa we began the process of what's needed to get lemtrada. Lemtrada has had allot of success. So with this treatment the cells that end up attacking the body are reset. The hope is that the cells that reproduce from the good cells will stay normal. Melissa and I would like to include all of you in how Melissa's treatment continues. Melissa or I will keep updating you guy's when we are able to.
