Last September, I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer. I underwent a course of chemotherapy throughout the fall and winter. I have completed the chemotherapy and am now happily sporting the military hairdo. On April 6, I will undergo a double mastectomy. Because the reconstruction will be done at the same time, the surgery will be quite lengthy: twelve hours. I will be in the ICU for two days following surgery and will be moved to a regular hospital room probably sometime on Wednesday, April 8. Hopefully, I will be bored stiff and eager for emails at that time.
