Thank you everyone who have sent well wishes for our beloved Mel. Unfortunately, it is with a heavy heart to share that Mel did pass away at 8:45 a.m. CT on Saturday, January 9, 2021, but many have asked what happened. On Monday-Tuesday, January 5-6, 2021, Mel did share with a few friends that she had an intense migraine that wasn't going away. She called in sick to work on Tuesday evening and shared she had been vomiting as well. On Wednesday, January 6, 2021, she didn't show up to work and wasn't answering messages, so her family sent police to her house where she was found unconscious.
She was rushed to the hospital where they found a blood clot that had burst in her brain. Surgery was immediately performed and on Thursday, January 7, there was slight progress where Mel did open one eye and gave a thumbs up to the doctor. However, she unfortunately continued to decline and there was too much damage done by the blood clot/stroke that occurred in her brain. Family and friends rushed to her side on Friday, January 8 to share their love with her and she passed away the morning of January 9, 2021. She held on for a long time and her heart and lungs were incredibly strong, but there was just too much damage to her brain.
