I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on January 17, 2018. I'd been having odd pains in my rib cage for a couple of months - felt like pulled muscles, but in unusual places. On Friday, January 12 I went to the doctor, who did a chest x-ray. It showed a mass in my lung. That led to a CT scan which showed multiple tumors in my ribs and vertebrae. Blood tests and a lung biopsy led to the diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma. We are fortunate to live 2 hours away from one of the best treatment facilities in the world for that cancer - the Mayo clinic. I called them on Thursday, 1/18, and they said they could see me the next day. We went on Friday, met with a doctor, and began diagnostic tests. We came back the following week for more tests.
