Welcome to my  CaringBridge website. I am  using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

I was diagnosed in August of 2016 with CLL (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia aka SLL or Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma) at 34 years old.  I had originally gone to my doctor for a swollen lymph node and some neck pain after I couldn't get any relief.  I was originally diagnosed with a bacterial infection and prescribed an antibiotic, but a few days later I received a phone call that things were a little more serious.  My oncologist thinks that his cancer has probably been in my body for over 10 years.  I have had symptoms for at least that long, although I didn't know that the symptoms I was experiencing  were  related to cancer.  I have experienced extreme fatigue, which I had been to more than one doctor several of times.  My blood work always consisted of checks of my hormone levels and sugar/insulin levels.  Sometimes it was "written off" as depression which I so suffer from.  My suggestion to everyone is to push for complete answers to any symptom that you are experiencing regardless of your age or background.

Thoughts and prayers are appreciated during this time of unexpected illness.  I feel as though I am in the best place possible in my life to be going through a cancer diagnosis, but I certainly appreciate any extra prayers and well wishes along the way!
