Welcome to Meghan's CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. At this time, please allow privacy for Juan and the rest of the family by not reaching out to them via phone, as Meghan enters spinal surgery at 4:00pm today. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement.

Meghan's Story:
On Monday, November 21st, Meghan repelled off the end of her rope, approximately 25 feet while climbing Cocaine Gully at Smith Rock. Her injuries are serious, but not life threatening. She sustained a fixable fracture in her Thoracic spine, a broken right foot, possible broken left foot and broken tailbone. She has a substantial amount of visible bruising, but no serious internal injuries. She will be going into surgery at 4:00pm at a hospital located in Bend, Oregon. We should know more after this as to her prognosis, and what rehabilitation will be needed afterwards.

Please feed well wishes and requests to help through this site and we will be sure to get those directly to Juan, Meghan and family. At this time, we know she will need some help when she returns to Portland, but are not sure at this time what that will be.

Thank you again for allowing privacy and the quiet necessary to heal and prepare for surgery. Additional updates should be provided this evening, throughout the night and into tomorrow.
