**UPDATED 12/13/17: Many of you have so graciously asked about financially assisting Megan throughout this time. Below is the link that allows for donations to be made directly to Megan. Unfortunately, there is no way to donate to Megan directly through Caring Bridge but if you click the link below it will direct you to her youcaring.com page.  Megan has a long journey ahead with a month long hospitalization and then will be renting an apartment for several months post-transplant so she can remain close to the hospital 24/7. She will be out of work for approximately the next year until her immune system strengthens and she is able to get back on her feet. Many, many thanks!

Megan made an appointment with her primary care doctor on October 5, 2017 due to severe and unexplained bruising. Her doctor ran a series of tests and called Megan first thing the following morning telling her to go immediately to the nearest emergency room to be admitted due to low blood counts including hemoglobin, platelets and white blood cells.  After several days of further testing, Megan was diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia on October 11, 2017. She was then discharged home to Greensboro until a bone marrow transplant could be arranged. After several weeks of going back and forth to Charlotte for labwork, transfusions, additional testing and doctor appointments, Megan completed all of her pre-transplant requirements and was admitted to Carolina Medical Center on December 4, 2017. Her sister, Kelsey, is an 100% match PRAISE GOD and will be the bone marrow donor!! The plan is for Megan to be admitted for the month of December for the transplant and then to transition into an apartment in Charlotte for at least 3 months following the transplant.

At this time, Megan is unfortunately unable to accept visitors due to the serious risk of infection (especially this time of year with flu season). Please continue to send your love, prayers, texts, and phone calls.  Megan is also unable to accept fresh flowers, fresh fruits and homemade goodies at this time. Please send all cards and anything you would like to get to Megan during her hospitalization to the Fennie house (1506 Regents Park Lane, Greensboro, NC 27455). Family will be going daily to Charlotte to see Megan and will bring anything that is dropped off to her!

Our family cannot thank each and every one of you for your outpouring of love and support throughout this time.  We appreciate your prayers and words of hope and encouragement more than you know. Please continue sending Megan love and prayers throughout the coming months and year! We love all of you!
