From Kim Martin: With great sadness, I am letting the rest of my family and friends know our daughter, Meagan, has cancer. She has been at Virginia Mason Hospital (Seattle) trying to figure out how to treat it but has come to the end of known possibilities. We are in shock, totally devastated. There just aren’t any words for the sorrow we feel. Her husband, Jay, and son, Cody, and all of us, appreciate all of the love, healing thoughts, prayers and prayer chains that have been bestowed upon Meagan, her family, and all of us.

It has a been a whirlwind since her and Cody’s arrival just after Thanksgiving. A biopsy of the blockage in her esophagus came up positive and each time a new test was done it was worse and worse. Metastasized, terminal but treatable, then eventually, not treatable. She had no idea except for difficulty swallowing for many months. She has been resolute in her decision to end life-sustaining measures, she is now being kept comfortable and pain-free as possible. We are all with her as much as possible, sharing our love for her and Jay and Cody (21 months old). Her heart is open to visitors and we are grateful for every one. Please message me as phone calls are too overwhelming right now. We will all be in Seattle for the duration. I will answer when I can.

I love you my dear daughter, light of my life. You have amazing fortitude and I will hold you in my heart forever.
Thank you to Jay Ellis Jr for the deep love and devotion you have shown my daughter. She’s been a lucky woman to share this life with you.
