Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
In April 2018,Pat went to the dermatologist about a mole, but she became concerned about a rash on his leg instead.  She wanted him to be tested for cancer because the Dermatomyositis she found on his leg was an indicator his body was reacting to cancer.  He had a CT done this summer and blood work completed, but nothing was found.   In early November he came home from a 24 hour work day on Sunday morning  and doubled over in pain.  He said his chest had been hurting since the day before at work. We went to PrimeER and they gave him pain meds but nothing was touching his pain.  The CT of his aortic arch did not reveal anything and the enzymes were not elevated, therefore heart attack was not confirmed.  They sent us to Shoreline for admitting under chest pain.  Long and short of it, after a heart catheter and endoscopy, the cancer on his esophagus was identified.    We are now (November 30) heading to MD Anderson Cancer Hospital in Houston to gain more information about the “stage” and any other possible information this weekend.  We will update on this site as more information comes about.  We appreciate the love and support of our friends and family.  Several of you have been amazing on this journey and we know it is going to take all of us to make it through this process.  The Lord is with us, so who can be against us?
