On February 3, Marty came down with symptoms we believed were influenza A as our son had tested positive just a week before. So we started Tamiflu and waited out the typical 5-7 day illness course. By Feb 10, he had experienced debilitating back pain (no longer believed to be related to his car accident or some home improvement project mishap) and we headed to the ER. They confirmed pneumonia via CT scans. After some blood work, they promptly sent us to Salina Regional Hospital. After further tests and a bone marrow biopsy, he was diagnosed with Hairy Cell Leukemia on Feb 13.
