Maya Rye

Welcome to Maya's CaringBridge website.  On March 16, 2015, one day after her 5th birthday, Maya was diagnosed with T-Cell Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia.  Since that day she has spent 144 days in the hospital, battled numerous infections, had countless scans, underwent multiple surgeries,  received 36 plus blood transfusions, and endured a 28 month chemotherapy regimen which include a spinal tap every 90 days. She has won the hearts of all who know her for her courage and "two thumbs up" attitude. She completed chemo 13 July 2017, is in remission and able to resume a normal childhood, albeit with continuing blood and other medical tests. We will use this page for future updates on what we hope will be a compendium of happy events as Maya continues to grow and thrive.
