Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

When we went to wake Max up for hockey last Saturday 12-14, he was unresponsive. He was transported to St Cloud Hospital by ambulance. After a CT scan we were told the radiologist saw a mass on his brain, so they were sending us to Children's MPLS where they would be better equipped to treat/care for Max. .

Max was airlifted to Children's. An MRI upon arrival showed an infection in upper sinus cavity, hole behind sinus cavity that allowed the infection to make it to Max's brain and the beginnings of an abscess forming on his brain. Max went immediately into surgery where they opened up his sinus cavity and flushed out the infection (only in sinus cavity).

We have been here at the hospital since Saturday watching Max rest and heal (now on day 9) Friday he started to come around and is showing more and more personality, walking around more and is able to stay away most of the day.

We were hoping to get discharged today, but MRI yesterday showed that the abscess on his brain has fully formed and they will need to go in and drain it.
