Welcome to our CaringBridge website. This is being authored by Maxine's daughter, Mareda. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. I will be adding to mom's story as this chapter of her life continues. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement, and especially your prayers.
My mom (Maxine) was in the hospital a couple times the last week of April with severe gastric pain. After a lot of non-invasive tests (including an EGD)there was no pancreatitis like last November, but also nothing else was found to explain her pain. Once home, things got worse. Every time she ate or drank anything, she had pain within 30 mins to an hour. Anyway the bottom line is that mom is now under Hospice care at my house. Her primary doctor thinks there's something wrong with her colon, but mom does not want to see another Dr (GI) and does not want a colonoscopy or any other test for that matter. She's 88 yrs old and would refuse any surgery or feeding tube etc that might correct the problem. She wants to be out of pain and knows that she will one day be whole again and disease free forever. My brother Jim and his wife Norma are here and have been great help. We do not know a diagnosis, so we do know how things will progress. God alone knows and we are trusting in Him. Please pray for wisdom, freedom from pain and peace.
