You are reading this message because of the role that Maxey, Steven and Owen have played in your life. Community is such a beautiful thing and I consider myself beyond blessed to have the Goold family as a part of mine. I imagine that you feel the same.
Our Goolds are quite magical. They are quick to lend a hand, share in our celebrations and offer support during trying times. Just as they would show up for you in any way possible, now is the time for us to support them.
Our favorite, feisty redhead was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer on June 14, 2021. While it was not the type of "surprise present" you hope to receive the day before your 40th birthday, in true to Maxey form she has met this hurdle with resilience, confidence and grace. Her doctors are very confident that her cancerous cells can be eradicated at this time with surgery alone. THANK GOODNESS! With that said, this will come with an arduous double mastectomy/reconstruction surgery and extended time to heal. Her cancerous tissue will be sent off to pathology to identify clear margins but at this point, radiation and chemotherapy are not a part of her treatment plan. Maxey's surgery is scheduled for August 4, 2021.
