Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

In the spring of 2002 at the age of 13,  Matt was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis Type 2 (NF2), which causes benign, slow growing tumors on the central nervous system.  He had surgery to remove an acoustic neuroma which left him deaf in his right ear.  Since that time he has had  3 more brain surgeries, gamma knife radiation, two surgeries on his back, 3 on his lip.  The most recent was the 4th brain surgery on December 10, 2020 on his C1,2, and 3 which is by the spinal column and brain stem.  He faces another surgery sometime this spring on the brachial plexus.  He is now completely deaf and has balance issues which has made life much more difficult.  While all the previous surgeries he recovered very quickly, this last one has been much more difficult and will take several months of physical therapy. We greatly appreciate everyone's thoughts, prayers and the other many ways you have served us during this most challenging time.
