After several days of feeling cold and without energy, paramedics were called on Friday, Dec 3 and Rita was taken to Doctor's Hospital in Modesto, CA. After an hours long wait in the Emergency Room, imaging was finally done and it was determined that an intestinal blockage required urgent surgery. The emergency surgery lasted about two hours and she was in Recovery by 3:30 am on Saturday morning. The surgeon said Rita came through the surgery well, and would face a lengthy recovery. Due to Covid restrictions, visitors are not allowed at Doctors Hospital except for the single person who is listed as the patient's Emergency Contact.
