In August right after we returned from Vietnam, Matt was diagnosed with a type of head and neck cancer called nasopharyngeal carcinoma. It's a very rare cancer in the US, but luckily we learned last week that it is also one of the most curable types. The treatment is going to be rough. Matt will undergo chemotherapy followed by combined chemotherapy and radiation for most of this fall. Our family is optimistic, but also a little overwhelmed with all the details.  Thank you to those of you have already reached out with your support.. it means a lot to us to have such a wonderful network of friends and family near and far. We are already looking forward to a merry cancer-free Christmas.
