Matthew was involved in a ski accident at Red Lodge yesterday. He was air lifted from Red Lodge to Billings and transferred this morning to Children's hospital in Minneapolis. It was a long day full of CT scans and X-rays. Matthew has suffered injuries including: multiple fractures (C2, T1, right shoulder, left knee, bilateral pelvic, liver laceration, and bilateral pulmonary contusions). The good news is that the C2 cervical fracture did not require an operation, but did require a halo that he will be wearing for 3 to 6 months.  After Matthew's images were further reviewed they noticed that his pelvis fractures were more severe than anticipated so Matthew was transferred to Hennepin Medical Center in Minneapolis. Matthew is vitally stable and resting comfortably in the PICU at Hennepin Medical Center. He has a fabulous team full of different specialty surgeon's (trauma, neuro, and ortho), RN's, and of course all his friends and family! Prayers are appreciated!
