At exactly the 26th week of pregnancy, our two boys decided it was time to be born! While this wasn't what we had planned, we were grateful for the quick attention and care we were given both at the Mankato Clinic and the University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital. Matthew and Isaac are now in the NICU and are dealing with the trauma of being born so early. They each have a one-on-one nurse by their sides 24/7 who know how to promptly respond to their needs before they become serious medical issues.
UPDATE: Matthew and Isaac were discharged from the hospital on Monday, May 23, 2016, and are now home with Mom and Dad, just 113 days after their birth. They are growing, growing, growing! They still need oxygen support (mostly for when they're feeding, crying, and exerting their little bodies in other ways) but in all other ways are more or less like normal newborns.
