March 21st 2018: Matt was diagnosed with a high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma that has metastasized to the liver. Further testing showed that he has a 2 cm mass in the distill esophagus where the esophagus and the stomach meet. They believe the distill esophagus is the primary source of this cancer. They started him on chemotherapy.

April 5th 2018: We met with Anthony Lowell and his NET team in Kentucky for a second opinion. They believe that Matt is dealing with two different high grade, very aggressive cancers.  They agree that the liver is indeed a high grade neuroendocrine carcinoma, BUT they believe that the distill esophagus is an adenocarcinoma.

April 9th: We will meet with Robert Ramirez and his NET team at NOLA.  We are praying for a better understanding.

Matt is a fighter and is willing to battle. He has God on his side and prayer warriors all over the country praying for him. Brayden, Ashlyn, and Carston light up his world and we are ready to battle together.  We will keep you updated the best that we can during this journey.

Thank you for all your prayers, cards, emails, text messages, meals, and so on. We are BLESSED to have you in our lives. God knows what he is doing. He is a good God and its not over until its good.

Phillipeans 4:6-7 Don’t worry about anything instead pray about EVERYTHING.  Tell God what you need and thank him for all he has done.
