Matteo was diagnosed with Pre B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on October 13, 2016, just days after his 4th birthday. We learned he relapsed in January 2019, and again in January 2020. After failing both the COG standard protocol for very high risk ALL, and FDA-approved Kymriah Car-T therapy, Matteo participated in a CD 19/22 Car-T trial at the National Institute of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, MD in the spring of 2020. That treatment was followed by a Bone Marrow Transplant at Boston Children's on May 19, 2020. I'm thrilled to say we remain cancer free today. And we're soaking up every ounce of joy and happiness in our lives, every day.
