Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Matthew Brohman is a fun loving, caring, sensitive, powerful, hilarious, big teddy bear with a GREAT sense of humor! He is a loyal friend, awesome son and brother but mostly, he’s a compassionate, incredibly generous and decent human being, loved by so many!

Matt’s journey that brings us here today started in Feb when he began having severe headaches which he shrugged off as allergies or side effects of Crohn’s meds. Four years ago he was diagnosed with advanced Crohn’s Disease so he is no stranger to pain, which made him ignore the headaches for 3 months.

Matt is extremely conscientious about work and loves transaction coordination so he waited until Friday night on May 20th at 8pm before he would agree to let his parents, who live nearby, take him to the hospital for what we thought would be pain medications.

After a CT scan we were told there was a massive growth in his brain. The ER doctors ordered an immediate MRI which by 1:30 am, revealed a pituitary tumor in his brain the size of an egg.. 2 in x 1.6 inches. Difficult news for all of us, especially Matt.

The hospital offered to check him in and begin all the tests for surgery but in Florida, very few surgeons do surgery on weekends . Matt decided to check out of the hospital with some strong pain meds, go home, get his business in order, and talk to his clients & friends first before surgery.

The intense pain is because the tumor is hiding his pituitary gland and has begun pressing on his optical nerve.  It must come out soon (see pictures).

Three years ago Matt started his own business Synergy, and he has been very successful because he is a super hard worker and an excellent business man. Matt has what most would consider an adequate savings account but nothing could have prepared him for the medical and prescription expenses that he is already incurring heading into in the next 2-6 weeks.

If you are reading this you are already clients, friends, and family who are aware of the cost of owning your own business and many of you have already asked if you can help.  What you may not know is that some of the doctors the neurosurgeon works with are not covered under insurance, some of the meds are not covered either.  While the medical expenses are becoming a concern, Prayer is our first and foremost need because we are not in charge of this event, it is out of our hands.

Secondly, at only 27 years old, we expect that Matt will have a full recovery, a long life and hundreds more wonderful memories with all of us. But if if you’d like to help out financially with medical and living expenses, it would be a tremendous blessing to Matt, and take a load off of him so he can focus on recovery!!
