The story went from 0-60 in the span of only 48 hours. MP made an appointment with her primary Dr. Hoang on February 6th after a number of episodes of feeling unsteady on her feet that began in December. Her primary doctor observed abnormal neurological symptoms and ordered an MRI which was performed on Feb 9th.
The MRI revealed a number of metastatic brain lesions - secondary cancerous tumors spread from another primary source. An appointment was made with MP's oncologist Dr. Hendricks for the morning of Friday, February 10th.

Dr. Hendricks confirmed the results of the MRI and set in motion two parallel paths of diagnosis and treatment. First, after ruling out breast cancer, she ordered a full body CAT scan to determine the primary site of the cancer. This test revealed a 4.7cm mass in the left lung. A biopsy will help determine the type of cancer and method for treatment. Second, was the arrangement of immediate radiation treatment with Dr. Stinson to halt growth of the brain tumors.

The lung cancer biopsy and consult with Dr. Sotos are lined up for next week as are the daily sessions of full brain radiation that will last for 2 weeks.
Friday, February 10th was a long day with a lot of information to absorb. Thanks to a few great doctors and their staff acting with a tremendous sense of urgency, we accomplished a week's worth of appointments in one day and have a focused plan of action for at least the next week.

MP is lucky to be supported by a whole host of loving friends and family. Together we will fight and get through this.
