Family, friends, loved ones, welcome to Mary's CaringBridge website.  On the evening of Monday, December 12th, Mary suffered a stroke while at home with Wendell.  She was given immediate care and taken by ambulance to Mercy Hospital.   After her initial evaluation, she was transported to Abbott Northwestern as they were better equipped to handle mom's situation.   After arriving at Abbott, a brief procedure was done to remove clotting from the carotid artery in the left side of her brain.  A dissection or injury to the internal layer of her carotid artery caused this affected area to begin clotting and ultimately lead to her stroke.  Prior to the procedure, mom had little to no movement on her right side, no sensation on her right side, and no ability to verbally communicate.   Mary is strong, but she needs our support and reassurance.  Family, friends, and loved ones, Mary cares for all of you deeply!  Please join us here to share encouraging thoughts and stories to Mary as she begins on her journey to recovery.  Thanks to all for your love and support!
