Mom was diagnosed with metastatic pancreatic cancer on September 16, 2016. She was soon seen at Mayo to begin laying out a treatment plan. A CT scan and biopsy were done on Friday, September 23. On Wednesday, September 28 the family met with an oncologist to review the biopsy results and decide on a course of treatment. Unfortunately the CT scan and biopsy showed that the cancer had already begun to spread to the liver along with a few nodules on her lungs. Since the cancer has spread, they were unable to offer any surgical options. She will soon begin chemotherapy to try to slow the progression of the cancer. We will do our best to update this site as we know more.
