Mary and Dean flew out to AZ last week to spend some time with Dean’s parents and drive one of their vehicles back to MN for them. Last Sunday they were able to squeeze a quick stop in to visit the Grand Canyon and Mary started feeling sick. Monday night they made it as far as Kearny, Nebraska and went to the ER because her stomach pain was too much too bear. After an emergency surgery Monday night for what was first thought to be appendicitis, Mary has undergone many tests. She was released to come home late yesterday after being diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer. She is home resting with her family now and will be consulting with the Mayo this week. We hope to have more information at that time.
We are all trying to remain positive and ask that you pray for Mary and her family as she embarks on this difficult journey. With your love and support she will make it through!
As you can all imagine she very much appreciates your willingness to help. This is a bit overwhelming right now. Please feel free to post to this caring bridge to show her your love while she is resting at home.
I will update you all as I know what is happening and how you can help.
My Mom is staying with Mary and Dean and is a great help in taking care of things and getting the kids to and from activities, so Dean can concentrate on helping Mary and being with her.
