Mary Jane Weber Mary Jane Weber

After battling chest discomfort most of Sunday afternoon, I agreed to go to the nearest ER which was in Orangeburg, about 35 miles from our home. An initial EKG showed nothing, however, 5 hours later it was determined I was having a heart attack. Very much a shock since I thought the discomfort was from a previously diagnosed hiatal hernia. I was transferred by ambulance to Providence Hospital in Columbia where emergency surgery was done to balloon a 100 percent blocked artery. At that time, it was determined there is also an 80 percent blocked artery. In my best interest, after a team conference, it was the consensus to perform bypass surgery. I am presently in Providence awaiting that surgery. Typically, in the interest of less risk, it it is preferred to wait a month between surgeries. Since I must be confined to the hospital while waiting, the team is considering this coming Monday or soon thereafter for the bypass surgery.
Please pray along with me that all goes well. Thank you. MJ
