Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

On March 29th, 2021, Mary was shopping for groceries with her friend Betty at Harding's in Oshtemo. As Mary was leaving the store, she fell and broke her right hip and the tip of her right thumb. The next day, at Bronson Hospital, the hip joint was partially replaced. On Saturday, April 3rd, she was transferred to Bronson Commons for rehab therapy. Due to the Covid-19 quarantine restrictions, she is unable to have any visitors, even family.

At this point she is also unable to take phone calls. It is very difficult for her to handle a phone with the thumb injury and she is physically very weak. Her spirits are also taking a beating and she would rather not devote the energy to answering multiple phone calls. She knows everyone is thinking of her and the well wishes are flowing in. However, at this time she requests that her friends do not call her room.

Eventually,  Bronson Commons will allow visitors to see Mary through a glass window. Even that is very restricted. It must be by appointment only and the same person may not visit more than about once every few weeks. Blame it all on Covid-19.

Using Caringbridge is a way for the family to keep everyone informed about her condition. You may leave comments and upload photos you might have of Mary. Eventually, we hope that Mary will be able to see the good wishes and love that all of her many friends are showing.
