Ten years ago I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I underwent a lumpectomy, chemotherapy, and radiation.

I've been seeing the oncologist and getting regular mammograms over the 10 years, also taking medicine to prevent the recurrence of breast cancer. At 10 years, I went for my first "regular" mammogram, having hit the significant milestone of 10 years. (YIPPEE!!!) The mammogram was abnormal. (Crap!!!!) On the Tuesday before Christmas 2016, I went for additional mammography, ultrasound, and then a biopsy. On the Friday before Christmas I was told I had cancer again. Double crap!!! The good news is that I have an amazing support group -- Kirk, my sons David and Joe, my daughters-in-law Bronwen and Samantha,  and so many friends have been so great, I can't find the words to thank everyone. I know I'll get through this....

Thank you Marj Economopoulos and (once again - she's still with me) Barbara Ferguson for caring so much and setting up this site!

I want to thank again all the people who helped me through the ordeal 10 years ago. THANK YOU BARBARA FERGUSON for kicking my butt and getting me to the doctor at that time! THANK YOU to Marla Bell for her support at Kennesaw State University (checking on me and being available in case I need someone to take my classes). THANK YOU to all my colleagues at KSU, so many of them, who gave so much support back then. THANK YOU to my husband and my sons David and Joe, and my daughter-in-law Bronwen,  and my friends Lynn Tolleson, Del Halstead-Nussloch, Penny Yeargan and Wendy Sanchez for taking me to doctor visits and chemo! THANK YOU to my in-laws Nana, Da, Karen, Kevin, Erin for all their support. THANK YOU to my sister-in-law Joanne Linhard who came to visit during chemo! I hope I didn't forget anyone ... please forgive me if I did.
