Welcome to Mary's CaringBridge website. We (the Cane Family) are using this to keep family and friends updated as we share information about Mary's Liver Transplant journey and recovery. We appreciate your support and words of prayer and encouragement at this time and will make sure to pass on your messages along to Mary as she starts her recovery process.

If you do not know Mary's story, please read on:

Mary has suffered from serious liver decline the past few years which has led to multiple other heath complications along the way. Most recently, she was at the Mayo Hospital in Rochester, MN for a gallstone removal procedure. While the surgery itself was successful, her liver health worsened to a point of needing an immediate, emergency liver transplant while in their care.

Mary went into surgery at 11:20pm on 2/27/19 and 5 hours later the transplant was complete. As of 2/28/19 Mary has a healthy, new, functioning liver. She is currently in the ICU recovering.

It does not go unnoticed that through the selfless gift of organ donation, the end of someone else's life has brought us a healthy liver and a chance for Mary to have a healthier quality of life. While we are grateful beyond words, we also pray for those mourning the loss of their loved one.

We will continue to update this page as we find out more and have news to share - but in the meantime we ask that you share this page with those that may not yet know the situation Mary has unexpectedly entered and any friends we haven't had a chance to connect with.

While we understand that many of you may feel the want to reach out to her, we ask that you refrain from calling Mary at this time. Her recovery will be extensive and so much is still unknown. But if you'd like, we encourage you to write her a message by going to the "well wishes" tab above and we will share them with her when we are able. We know she would love to hear from you.

Thank you for your prayers and support,
The Cane Family
