Let me start out by saying I have a very positive attitude and feel at peace with everything. In June, the nurse practitioner at my OB-GYN’s office found a lump in my left breast-much to the later amazement of my surgeons and radiologists. After a core needle biopsy, we learned that it was breast cancer. I will be having a double mastectomy on August 9th at noon.

It’s very small and slow growing. I have the same type of cancer my sister had six years ago, Invasive Mammary Carcinoma. Though I’m praying for the same outcome Elizabeth had, I know they may find more, and I may need chemo and/or radiation. Elizabeth did not need either. She’s been on a pill, Tamoxifen, for 6 years and we are hoping for the same. My daughters will help with the updates as things progress.

We have had questions about help with meals, so my daughters have added a Meal Train link here.

I appreciate your thoughts and prayers throughout my journey!
Much love,
Mary
