On June 24th, Mary Ann was admitted to Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha due to severe pancreatitis.  She had surgery to remove her gallbladder, as that was inflaming the pancreas.  A week later, surgery was performed inserting a stent into the pancreas to drain a cyst that was discovered.  Mary Ann was hospitalized for weeks and was then moved to Hillcrest for rehabilitation services.  In the months following, she altered between Bergen Mercy and Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital twice to clean out the stent and cyst more.  She is currently back at Bergan Mercy Hospital where another cyst was discovered and is being drained.  A feeding tube has also been surgically inserted to assist her with receiving the necessary nutrients, as she has not been able to physically eat much without getting nauseous.
