Welcome to our CaringBridge site. We've created it to keep friends and family updated. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement during this time when it matters most.

Dear Friends and Family,

Mom / Molly / Mary Ann got some bad news last week: she has a malignant tumor on one of her ovaries and will have surgery at El Camino Hospital on the morning of Wednesday, June 15.  The surgery has two main goals: staging -- to determine how far it's spread -- and debulking -- to remove as many tumors as possible.  She'll be in the hospital for at least week after that -- it's a very invasive surgery, and the recovery will take time.

Mary Ann's children and their spouses are with her now and are planning to take turns visiting for the next several weeks to help her through this health challenge.  Mary Ann is past the initial shock that the news brought, and is feeling strong and confident about the surgery.  Your words of love and encouragement through this website mean a lot to all of us!

We look forward to being in touch with Mary Ann's strong and supportive group of friends in the Palo Alto area, and we will stay in touch with the rest of you through postings here.  We will update things as often as we can.

Thanks for keeping MAH in your thoughts and prayers!
