Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

The  day after Christmas the UMC Imaging Center confirmed breast cancer.  I was not surprised since mammogram and sonogram clearly showed a mass with subsequent biopsy indicating ductal carcinoma, intermediate grade, most common type of breast cancer in women.  I am now in the system awaiting appointment with surgeon to review treatment options.  I am very grateful to have good insurance, excellent medical professionals, and a host of friends and family whom I dearly love.

This bare-bones story is pretty sterile but it’s all I can muster up right now.  The thought of me creating a website for the intent purpose of communicating “how I’m doing” seems bizarre. It is even harder to believe I’m actually writing about ME getting the Big C. For heaven’s sake, this happens to other people, not me.  Awfully arrogant isn’t it? To add injury to insult, I’m amazed that God even let this happen.  I know it is prideful but really, how dare He?  Anyway,  I’ll try to curb the whining and share more in the days to come about the perfect  gift I’ve been granted in the journal portion of this site.  Please pray for my husband, our daughters and their husbands, and our 11 grandchildren.
