With this Caring Bridge site, we hope to keep you updated on Mary E and Dave’s health situation.  Thanks for caring!

Dave was admitted to the hospital May 29th, because he was falling and had increased weakness on his left side. So far, they have found evidence of a past heart attack. He was unaware of the heart attack but there appears to be scarring that has caused decreased circulation. He also has very low Vitamin B12. They’ve been giving him shots to help increase his levels.  He is currently in a rehab facility at the Lutheran Home, the same building as Grandmom, Leone Erskine, had been in at the end of her life.

Meanwhile, Mary E had “bad news” last week when her MRI brain scan came back with evidence of another lesion, in a new location.  The initial site is still clear. Mary E will have brain surgery on the morning of Tuesday, June 5th. The position of this tumor is “more delicate” as it is near the speech center in the left temporal lobe. We’re all hoping that she does just as well through this time as she did last time.

Mom has been courageously ready to face this surgery and Dad is comfortable in the rehab (for now).  We appreciate all of your support.
