Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.
Mary has had breathing issues since her near fatal auto accident on 9/7/87.  That breathing issue has evolved into COPD, which is now going to take her life.  Mary had been living in her own apartment until January 1, 2020, when my fiance, Sheri Gohl, and I moved her in with us so we could provide the care that she needed.  Her physician had advised me that she should consider Assisted Living and Mary opposed that plan after visiting a facility.   After moving in with us, she improved because she was now taking her medications and was following a proper diabetic diet.  Unfortunately,  COPD is a terminal diagnosis and she gradually deteriorated as the disease progressed.  In March of this year, Mary started a Hospice program with North Memorial Hospice.  The Hospice folks are incredible and have greatly helped us help Mary to have the best life possible with the time she had left.  Now, her disease is progressing towards finality and Hospice feels she only has a couple of months of life remaining.
Sheri and I will keep this story updated as life continues to the ending.  I think Mary would love to see and hear from her friends and family in the near future.
