Today was not such a great day. I have been experiencing stomach pains and weight loss for about 6 -8 weeks. After a trip to the ER, it was determined that my gallbladder needed to be removed. It was a simple normal procedure. I had the surgery in a few hours and was back home in time for lunch (although I had no appetite for anything). The surgeon suspected there was more going on and took several tissue samples for analysis. A week ago today, I met my oncologist at MD Anderson for the first time. I have spent this last week waiting for a confirmed diagnosis. Today I found out I have cancer in the pancreas. It has advanced to my liver and lungs as well. The good news is that there is no evidence that is in my blood , bones or lymph nodes. It is considered very serious because it has spread. I will begin chemo on Thursday May 4. This is going to be tough to beat. But as many of you know I don't give up easily and this is the fight of my life. I need your prayers and positive thoughts to help me get through this. This site is the easiest location to contact me. Cards are always welcome. I will try to check it everyday and Paul or I will be updating it every few days.
