Thank you all so much for your friendship to Martin and care to our family. We wish we could respond to every one of you. Please follow these CaringBridge updates for the best information.

On Saturday, Oct. 2, 2016, Martin, Angie, and Joey biked to the Oktoberfest celebration in downtown Champaign to meet with friends. It was a wonderful time together -- including Martin teaching polka lessons, which he'd just learned himself for Eric & Maddie's wedding! Later that night, on the bike ride home, something happened -- it's still not clear what (the road was smooth and clear, no cars nearby or contact with other bikes). Martin fell from his bike, impacting the road on his right side. When paramedics took him to the hospital, tests showed internal cranial bleeding, so he was kept sedated. His situation appears to have stabilized through the first 48 hours, but much remains unknown. We'll update you through this page in the days ahead. Please be praying for Martin.
