Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. This is a journey that began this summer for Our family; We don’t know where we are going or what lies along the way, but we know we aren’t alone. We have peace that God is with us, that nothing that we are going through is outside his control. Marty has been diagnosed with cancer: Multiple myeloma. This is a cancer of plasma cells, a type of white blood cell normally responsible for producing antibodies. The plasma cells can form masses in the bone marrow or soft tissue- which Marty does have. It is considered to be a treatable kind of cancer, but generally incurable. At this time the Doctors are gathering the test results to put together a treatment plan. Many of you have expressed a desire to help Marty and Mina during this very difficult time. So, through Annie’s Angels Memorial Fund (a 501c3 charitable organization), we have set up a funding page to help cover some of the additional expenses related to fighting his cancer. (See post from 11/30 for link) Our entire family is so very grateful for the incredible outpouring of love and support during the past weeks.
