Welcome to our CaringBridge website. We are using it to keep family and friends updated in one place. We appreciate your support and words of hope and encouragement. Thank you for visiting.

Marlyn was not feeling well and was having trouble breathing. She went to the emergency room in Alexandria on Monday, July 15th. The ER doctors discovered that she had an infection in her neck. They transported her by helicopter to the hospital in St. Cloud. On the way to the hospital they put in a vent.

In St. Cloud she was admitted to the ICU. After testing was completed they determined that she needed surgery to clear the infection. In addition to the infection, she had double pneumonia and sepsis. St. Cloud performed surgery to remove 2 pus sacs from her neck. The team at St. Cloud came to the conclusion that the University of MN would be better able to handle her case. She was transported on Wednesday, July 17th to the U of M by helicopter.

Marlyn has had five surgeries to remove fluid. They now know the specific infection that she has so they have been able to fine tune her antibotics.

She no longer has pneumonia and her sepsis is gone as well.
