Marlene after taking a annual physical in July and having a chest X-ray , it was discovered that she had 2 nodules, one on each lung. So our journey begins.
The first thing was to take a biopsy to understand the gravity of to tumors.
She had a PET Scan and a CT Scan. The PET scan determined that the cancer was just in those two spots. The CT Scan confirmed that it was carcinoma and was malignant.
The uncollagest said that she was one of the lucky ones, meaning that the tumors were caught early and though that the tumors were stage one and were operable .

Office visit with the pulmonary Dr. Yuhico:
This doctor was very good in explaining where he thought Marlene is today. Because the tumors are in both lungs there should have been a second biopsy in the leaf lung. So on 9/1 Marlene will have 5 biopsies done on her left lung and the right one again with the lymph nods. This is another important day. This will determine the type of treatment Marlene will need. Marlene loves this doctor and has a tremendous amount of faith in him. She called him her angel. He is going to come in on his day off to do the procedure because of Layne's relationship and request.
