May 2nd we took Marlee into the doctor for, what looked like, a swollen eye. After our doc in Red Wing looked at her, they sent us to Rochester for a second opinion.

When we arrived at Mayo, they did a CT scan, which showed that Marlee May had a definite growth behind her eye that was in fact pushing her eye out. Right now it is not known whether or not it is cancerous, but they are suspecting it is and that it is stemming from the muscle behind her eyeball.
**Edit** The tumor behind her eye came back as being Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma. From the research I did, this only affects about 350 people each year in the US.

What I thought would be a simple doctor appointment, antibiotics maybe, and then we go home, turned into so much more.
